Dr. O’Shea established several intellectual property creation teams across several corporations and served as the IP strategy advisor for many. Terry formulated, designed and conducted training classes in IP development at every DHeG site taking the IP holding from nothing to a valuation of over $300M in one year. Terry personally has 77 patents granted, while 81 applications are pending with over 182 register trade secrets; including one for a flexible display for cellular phones described by Ars Technica: “Flexible displays are one part of a hypothetical Holy Grail for PDA, cell phone, and laptop developers…Intel's patent application goes into detail regarding the need for display technology that isn't derived from traditional LCD displays and covers the usual problems that occur when attempting to scale LCDs for use in PDAs, cell phones, or other handheld applications…(not only solving a technical power problem) but also minting gold while doing it.”
